In the Part I (Regional - Multiple Choice) part of the test, the Junior Varsity team finished 4th locally and 18th in the state in Division 5 with a score of 37. The Varsity team finished tied for 3rd out of 7 teams locally and 13th in the state with 51 points. In Part II of the test, comprised of essay solutions to engineering problem situations, the Varsity team finished 36th out of 280 teams nationally in Division 5. (Regional divisions are based on the schools' admissions policies and size of the senior class.)
The JETS TEAMS (Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science) Program illustrates engineering work in a realistic way. TEAMS is an open-book, team-discussion-focused academic competition, in which students solve real-life engineering problems. Students are challenged to use higher order thinking and logic to solve realistic problems. TEAMS problems are indicative of the level of rigor found in first semester engineering courses.
