Season Highlights: With Quad-Captains Ryan Stallmeyer (linebacker), Brian Connors (offensive lineman), B. J. Sandhas (running back), and Shane Adler (defensive back), the 1994 Panthers opened the season at Middletown. Bill Reder started at quarterback, and completed TD passes to Beau Parton (25 and 28 yards) and Brad Lambers (45 yards). B. J. Sandhas rushed for a fourth TD, and Mike Driggers kicked 4 out of 4 PATs to give the Panthers a 28-13 victory. Sandhas rushed for 129 yards on 29 carries. Tim McDonald and John Lammers intercepted Middletown passes to lead the defense.

Elder then traveled to Boone County. Even though they outgained the Rebels 346 to 177, the Panthers went down to defeat, 14-10. Bill Reder's 256 yards passing and Jeff Selby's 148 yards receiving and 1 TD led the offense; Mike Driggers added a 27-yard field goal and an extra point.

The Panthers then journeyed up Glenway Avenue to Western Hills, and John Lammers opened the game at quarterback. Lammers led the passing attack with 198 yards, but the ground game was stopped by the Mustang defense, which allowed only 30 yards rushing. The Mustangs demonstrated a successful ground game, with 104 yards rushing, but could only manage 51 yards through the air. The defensive battle led to a scoreless first half. Elder broke through in the third quarter with a 7-yard Lammers-to-Parton TD pass, following a Western Hills field goal. Mike Driggers added the extra point, making the score, 7-3 Elder. Both defenses held the rest of the game, and Elder took home the victory.

Against Withrow in Game 4, the scoring machine got back in gear, as Elder trounced the Tigers 44-22. John Lammers passed for 213 yards and 4 TDs. B. J. Sandhas carried for 101 yards and 1 TD, Beau Parton caught 7 passes for 112 yards and 3 TDs. Jeff Selby caught the fourth Lammers TD pass. Sophomore Jason Ott scored on a 7-yard run, and Mike Driggers kicked 6 out of 6 PATs.

At the midpoint of the season, La Salle visited the Pit, and Elder was a none-too-gracious host as they beat the Lancers, 42-25. Lammers again passed for 4 touchdowns, two to Selby, and one each to Sandhas and Parton. Sandhas added two scores rushing, and Driggers added six more PATs to round out the scoring. The Panthers' record went to 4-1, 1-0 in the GCL South.

St. Xavier visited the following week, and stopped the Elder running game cold, allowing a -44 yards on the ground. Lammers' 125 yards were not enough to get the ball into the end zone, and the Bombers took the win, 14-0.

The Panthers' chances for the playoffs were slipping away as they traveled to Galbreath field to take on the 4-2 Moeller Crusaders. With 181 yards through the air and 132 yards on the ground, the Panthers outgained the Crusaders 313 to 223, and with 3 interceptions kept Moeller off the scoreboard for the first time since 1972 shutout the Crusaders, 21-0. Lammers connected with Parton for a 8-yard TD pass, Sandhas added rushing TDs of 3 and 41 yards, and Driggers added three more PATs to his growing total.

Elder then took the long road to Chaminade-Julienne in Dayton, for their yearly battle with a GCL-North team, and were soundly defeated, 31-14. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, which grew to 28-14 at the half, and the Panthers could never recover. Elder was outgained 322-216 yards. Selby and Sandhas scored the Panthers' TDs, Driggers added two PATs.

The Ryle Raiders from Northern Kentucky visited the Pit for the first time, and were shutout by the Panthers, 21-0. John Lammers hit Stallmeyer and Lambers with TD passes, and sophomore Brandon Sowers scored his first TD on a five-yard run. Driggers' three PATs completed the scoring. The defense allowed Ryle to accumulate only 75 total yards in the game.

Game 10 brought the winless Oak Hills Highlanders to the Pit, and the Panthers seemed to score at will, winning the contest, 54-0. Sandhas picked up 3 TDs rushing; Sowers and Adam Studt added single TDs on the ground. Lammers completed 1 TD pass, to Parton for 40 yards. Shane Adler returned an interception 45 yards for a score, Chris Chouteau did likewise for 25 yards. Selby's conversion and PATs by Driggers (2), Jeff Brogan (1), and Nick Castellini (1) put 10 Panthers into the scoring column. Parton's 137 yards on 8 receptions led the aerial attack. The season ended with the Panthers' record at 7-3.

B. J. Sandhas was the season scoring leader with 11 TDs and 66 points. Beau Parton's 9 TDs and 1 conversion gave him 56 points. John Lammers passed for 1323 yards and 14 TDs, completing 83 out of 167 passes; Bill Reder passed for 527 yards on 33 of 61 and 4 TDs. Sandhas also led the rushing game, with 161 carries for 716 yards, while Parton led the receivers with 46 receptions and 656 yards. Jeff Selby picked up 495 yards through the air on 30 receptions. Ryan Stallmeyer led the defense with 164 tackles, 4 sacks and 1 fumble recovery. Eddie Postel was second with 98 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 fumble recovery. Mike Lind had 71 tackles and led the team with 6 sacks. Four defenders had 2 interceptions each: Shane Adler, Tim McDonald, Cory Steins, and John Lammers. Beau Parton punted 44 times for 1420 yards and a 32.3 yard-per-punt average.

(Ryan Stallmeyer joined his brother Mike and played for the Blue Devils of Duke University. In his senior season, Ryan led the team in tackles with 110, and received the team's Outstanding Linebacker Award.)

Colerain finished first in the Region 4 Harbin rankings, followed by St. Xavier, Huber Heights Wayne, and Hamilton, with Elder finishing 5th. Colerain made it the farthest in the tournament, losing to State runner-up Westerville South in the state semi-final game. Cleveland St. Ignatius was the eventual state champion.
